The Experience

A hunt rooted in the land, led by those who know it

Deep in the highlands of north-west Iceland, the Rock Ptarmigan — the rjúpa — has been part of this landscape for as long as anyone can remember. Private land, with not a single soul in sight. The valley and its surroundings stretch beyond imagination — endless hunting opportunities, shaped by the wind and the weather. This is a guided experience for those who appreciate wild places and skilled dogs.

A magnificent piece of north-west Iceland

A broad valley gives way to towering ridgelines and sweeping plateaus — a terrain sculpted over millennia, vast in every direction. The kind of country that makes you feel properly small, and properly free.

Access is exclusive. You will not share the ground with anyone else. The experience is deliberately intimate — small groups, unhurried days, and time to take in the surroundings.

German Wirehaired Pointer · GWP

The most versatile hunting dog in the field

The German Wirehaired Pointer was bred for exactly this — wild, unforgiving terrain, unpredictable weather, and game that demands patience and precision. Their dense, wiry coat was made for the wind and cold of the Icelandic highlands. Their drive is unmatched.

Each of the three dogs has been trained to work Icelandic conditions specifically — pointing, holding, and retrieving across open ground where lesser dogs would falter.

All-terrain coat built for cold and wind
Exceptional nose and stamina in open country
Points, flushes, and retrieves on land and water
Fully trained to Icelandic hunting conditions
Three dogs working the ground simultaneously
The most versatile gun dog in existence
